Venison Stew Recipes

Using Canned Venison or Fresh Deer Meat

These venison stew recipes are mouth watering delicious! The stew recipe that uses the canned venison is ready to eat in under 30 minutes!



Stew Recipes using Canned Venison

This makes a very thick stew.


1 pint jar of canned venison
3 pkgs. of dry brown gravy mix
3 cups of water
1 can of sliced carrots
1 can of sliced potatoes

Thoroughly mix water and dry gravy mixes. Add canned deer meat, carrots, and potatoes. Slowly heat for about 20-30 minutes!

That's it! This recipe doesn't even need any type of extra seasonings!

Stew Recipes Using Fresh or Frozen Deer Meat


2 lbs. Venison
8 cups water
2 pouches of dry onion soup mix
2 cups of cut carrots
3 to 3 ½ cups potatoes, cut into bite size chunks
1 can peas, drained
1 small can mushrooms, drained
4 teas. Cornstarch
4 teas. water

Cut deer meat into bite size chunks. Place 8 cups water, meat, and 2 pouches of dry onion soup mix into pot and simmer several hours, until meat is tender.

Add carrots, potatoes, peas, and mushrooms and continue cooking until carrots and potatoes are almost done.

Mix cornstarch and cold water in a cup and slowly pour into the stew. Simmer about another 30 minutes.
