What Are Flesh Eating Bugs?
Using the Dermestid Beetle for Cleaning Skulls
Dermestid Beetles are sometimes called flesh eating bugs. This is because they are in the family of beetles that clean up roadkill, leaving nothing but bone behind!
You can use these flesh eating beetles to turn your deer skulls into a beautiful European deer mount!
They are relatively easy to maintain as they do not require a lot of upkeep.
As long as you keep their environment warm, water them periodically, and throw them an occasional piece of meat, these amazing bugs will save you hours of time and work!

They are handy little critters to have around, but they do not eat fur, cartilage, or any type of muscle. Nothing but plain 'ole meat for them! And just in case you're wondering, yes, they only eat dead animals!
You can control their population by the amount of food that you feed them. If it is the middle of summer and you do not have any skulls that need cleaned, simply cut down on their food supply and they stop reproducing as quickly.
